Japanese Beef Bowl Gyudon
Gyudon is a Japanese-styled beef stew served with rice. Gyudon in Japan is very popular and is a well-loved Japanese fast food!
Japanese-style Gyudon beef rice has the main ingredient of rice in a large and deep bowl, topped with beef cooked with onions and a sweet sauce made from Dashi (usually fish or seaweed dashi), soy sauce and mirin (sweet wine). Those are also the main ingredients of Dashi Lab’s Japanese Sukiyaki Sauce.
Ingredients
140g Beef Shortplate 140g
55g Onion
2 stalks Green Onion
1 egg
1 bowl of Japanese rice (or any type of soft rice you prefer)
5g Japanese pink ginger (optional), Yellow Ginger
1 cup Water
55g (~4 tsp.) Japanese Sukiyaki Sauce (Dashi Lab)
Steps
Step 1: Process the materials
- Thinly slice beef. If beef fat is available, chop it up and add to the oil for flavor.
- Sliced onion, chopped green onion
- Cut the yellow ginger into thin slices (the amount you want, does not need much)
